A lacquered vessel that adds quiet height to the tea table
This raised confectionery plate is made as an everyday vessel centered around tea time.
It can be used not only as a plate for sweets or fruit, but also as a serving dish for foods without much liquid, such as sashimi or small appetizers. The elevated form naturally draws the eye to what is placed upon it, adding subtle depth and calm to the table setting.
Easy to lift, naturally fitting in the hand
The raised profile makes the vessel easy to lift and handle.
Soft curves along the rim and the rise allow it to settle comfortably in the hand when picked up. The gentle touch of natural wood, combined with the smooth, matte lacquer finish, gives a calm and reassuring impression each time it is used. It is designed to be incorporated into daily life without strain.
Please note that this piece is not suitable for soups or foods cooked in very hot oil.
Careful lacquer work that brings out the broad surface
Because of its wide surface area, particular care is taken during the lacquering process.
When applying lacquer, the environment is carefully controlled to prevent dust, and during the final coating, subtle adjustments are made so the surface expression emerges naturally. Each piece is finished patiently, allowing the depth of lacquer and its quiet character to be felt within the smooth surface.
